Toshiba Tec launches three multifunction printing systems with unique hybrid print technology. By combining conventional printing with erasable printing, paper consumption in the office can now be reduced significantly.
Toshiba TEC today announced the launch of the e-STUDIO5008LP series – the first series of monochrome multifunction systems with Toshiba’s unique hybrid print technology. By using either regular black or erasable blue toner the new models are capable of printing conventional, permanent documents as well as temporary, erasable documents. Via the unique erase function of the systems the toner on the temporary documents can be wiped and the paper can then be reused for printing.
Temporary documents are printed every day for proof-reading, reviewing or as a reminder. These documents are usually thrown away after only a few hours. By being able to reuse regular office paper multiple times, the overall paper consumption can be reduced significantly. To further enhance functionality the addition of an optional external erasing unit, the e-STUDIO RD301, offers scanning to business workflows and Document Management Systems for filing and retrieval purposes, so even when printed documents are erased they can be retrieved at a later date if required.
To simplify the usage, the rule-based printing feature allows users to define individual rules to automatically switch from one printing mode to another depending on the application being used.
“With the increase of environmental awareness we truly believe that in today’s world businesses have to operate efficiently, economically and ecologically if they want to be successful” says Jeremy Spencer, marketing director at Toshiba Tec. “Our unique hybrid print technology helps businesses achieve their environmental goals. By bridging the gap between reducing paper usage and recycling paper our customers can use less paper without having to change their printing habits.”
The e-STUDIO5008LP series consists of three models with a print speed of 35, 45 and 50 pages per minute (ppm) respectively for permanent prints and 35 ppm on all three models when printing with erasable toner. They all also offer an extensive range of options and features to customise the systems according to a company’s needs. To support modern document workflows the new models include the ability for cloud and mobile printing and can easily be connected to 3rd party applications. They, of course, all come with state-of-the-art security features to ensure highest possible data protection.
The development of the unique hybrid print technology is yet another confirmation of Toshiba’s strong focus on environmental issues as one of its top management priorities. The e-STUDIO5008LP series has been designed to reduce the carbon footprint of companies and is one of Toshiba’s Excellent Environmentally Friendly Products.
