Western Thermal Limited, leading specialist thermal engineers with over thirty years’ experience in thermal & acoustic insulation, ventilation ductwork, trace heating, and fire stopping, have secured a contract with Coventry University.
This latest venture from the company will see it provide thermal insulation to pipework and ductwork services, which will aid with the renovation of the former BT building in Mile Lane, just a short distance from the heart of the city’s campus.
Plans were given the go ahead earlier this year as the university looks to provide a cutting-edge learning hub for its students and faculty. The renovated BT building will house up to 3,000 students and faculties, with features including teaching rooms, IT suites, engineering and science labs, as well a café and extensive breakout areas for more social learning.
The contract, which is worth £180,000, will see Western Thermal work with NG Bailey, the UK’s largest independent engineering, construction services company. The renovation is being developed in partnership with Willmott Dixon, and is focused on encouraging an open learning environment in what will prove to be a project worth £33 million.
With the project now underway, it is expected to see the building work completed in February 2019. The new campus will be scheduled to open the following month.
Speaking about the prestigious project, Phil Jones, Executive Director – Operations at Western Thermal, said: “We are delighted to be working with Coventry University on what promises to be an exciting project. The university has a long and proud tradition of delivering first-class education and experiences to its students and local community, and we are happy to play a small part in helping them in uplifting their service to the students and the wider academic community.
Western Thermal Limited is a leader in the sector and continues to find ways to emphasise its expertise and experience through a number of exciting, high quality projects. It is our specialism which has enabled this company to deliver successful results on a consistent basis and has made us out a stand our performer in the market.
The project is certainly an exciting one and we are confident that it will prove to be a success. We are aware of the expectations placed on us and are know that our thermal insulation and pipework will contribute to providing the new campus with high quality heating and ventilation.”
This latest contract has contributed to another successful year for Western Thermal, with the company having already secured deals to work on the Wardian Project, a site for luxury apartments which will also include a retail, garden, gym, swimming pool and cinema complex - all set within two slim and tall residential towers.
