Change comes quickly to the dynamic university campus and the current academic year will be no exception
Taking place on 15-16 November at the University of Leicester, the CUBO Winter Conference is a two-day deep dive into the issues that matter to HE commercial, campus and facilities professionals.
Open to CUBO members and non-members, it offers practical updates and strategic insight from experts in the field, providing take-away knowledge that can be implemented immediately.
Martyn’s Law'
Headlining this year’s conference is a look at how your cross-University services can take steps to prepare for the expected implementation of the Terrorism (Protection of Premises) Bill, better known as Martyn’s Law.
Nick Aldworth, Director, Risk to Resolution and the bill’s author, will be joined by Oliver Curran, Chairman of AUCSO to give an update on the bill, expected to become law in 2024. Whatever stage your organisation is at in readiness to meet the proposed changes, this is a session not to be missed.
Benchmarking, trends, updates, and more
Other sessions will give commercial and campus services leaders the insights to make better decisions and create positive change, including:
• Commercial services benchmarking
• Hospitality sector update
• Food service sustainability
• What students want from accommodation
• Recruitment strategies
• The power of cross-generational teams
• The very latest student trends from UCAS
• What sport can teach us about diversifying our workforce
Build your network
Because we learn by sharing experiences, there are ample opportunities to connect with sector colleagues throughout the two days.
Discover new business models
There’s also a great opportunity to tour the University of Leicester’s Freemen’s Campus and Central Campus and hear about its mixed model partnership.
Run by Leicester Services Partnership, commercial services operated on campus include an O2 Academy Club, a Starbucks, a clothing and merchandising store, third party operators, in-house brands and outsourced services.
